Extended Family Photography- Rocklin CA

I have a feeling that not everyone thinks a family photography session as a good time. I bet even less get excited over the idea of an extended family photography! While it may feel dreaded, I’m happy to report that no one complains while its happening and everyone seems happy when they receive their images!

Regardless of how we feel about family photography, let’s think of the value of family photography just for the sake of history! Today while writing this blog post my Mom’s cousin sent her a picture of my Grandmother as a young girl with 8 or so of her family members. I got goosebumps seeing my Grandmother so young, her siblings and her parents which of course are my great grandparents that I never met. This picture is now precious to me! Point of this story- get your family together every now and then and smile pretty for the camera!  You will be happy you did and the children from your family not even born yet will certainly be happy you did!  They may be making fun of your hairdo or clothing but they will be smiling back at your smiling at your faces!

Before every extended family photo shoot, a phone call will be set up or emails can be exchanged about the different pictures to be taken. Being organized before the shoot can be very helpful to make it go faster and also to make sure you get the pictures you want.

My goal is to take the traditional pictures on the list but also get the candids in between!
