Becky & Anthony’s Ocean Beach, Fire Island Wedding!

From the very first minute of the initial phone conversation I had with Becky, I knew we were going to be working with one of the sweetest brides. So sweet that it was fitting that on her wedding day the Monarch butterflies were playfully flying by on their migration path and the doey eyed deer were grazing in the tall Fire Island grass.  Fairytale-like but Fire Island style for sure!

Becky’s J Crew dress was the perfect beach wedding dress!Becky’s big brother came over to see his little sister and his smile said it all!

Great job by the hair stylist Danielle and Bean from the Beehive Salon in Islip!

Becky’s gifts to her bridesmaids came in these custom bags by FEED products. What an incredible way to give a gift of great style but also with great intention. The money used to pay for each bag will go to feed one child in school for one full year.

Becky’s adorable clutch was bought on Etsy by the designers Ira & Lucy.  The necklaces given to the bridesmaids were created by Meg of Designs by Travelmeg.

Becky and Anthony are super creative people and the entire day had splashes of original details that made their wedding truly special. As you’ll see these are just a taste of what’s to come! Glowing in perfect light, Becky was accompanied by her parents to the beach with her ladies in tow!Over at the guys’ house, they were already warming up for the awesome party that was to come later.
The perfect gift for all the guys!Anthony and his crew left for the ceremony looking superb for a beach wedding in their J Crew suits and Vans shoes. This picture is SO Fire Island wedding, I love it!!  What a great place to get married! The rings were waiting and safe in this cool little wooden box!           The crowd was gathering, everyone loves a beach wedding! The young ring bearer and the flower girl couldn’t have been cuter as they melted hearts on their way down the sand aisle.Becky and her father make their way to the ceremony. What a beautiful entrance to the trelace created by Becky’s future sister in law Julie.  I love how the crowd of beach watchers is almost as large as the wedding guests!

I love Anthony’s smile as he sees Becky!
Becky you are the perfect beach bride!  So pretty!
Amazing, what a stunning location and setup for the wedding ceremony. Job well done by Dylan Wallace and Anthony in creating the trelace made out of drift wood!               Becky’s godmother and future sister-in-law say their readings. One of my favorite moments of a wedding day is capturing the love on the faces of the bride and the groom as they listen to the other say their vows.

The proud parents!

Becky and Anthony combine sands from two locations to represent their unification.

Unfortunately Anthony’s sister was unable to attend the wedding since she is studying abroad in Spain. But she was still able to voice her love for the couple with a recording that was played live at the ceremony.  This won’t be the last we “see” of his sister either, wait til you see how she watched their first dance! As the priest was saying his last blessing over the couple, out of nowhere airplanes sent by Anthony’s Dad starting zooming past the wedding to salute the newly married couple!!Kiss the bride!!!Look at those smiles!!!  Such a beautiful couple!!!The amazing bridal party! The lovely ladies!  All the flowers for the bridal party and parents were created  by the talented Fire Island florist Debby from The Gallery in the town of Ocean Beach!
The handsome men!
Anthony, clever as he is, constructed a custom tandem bike just for their wedding!  Outfitted with a basket, a bell, drink holders and a champagne bucket! And of course, cans tied to the back which recalls the ancient tradition of making loud noises to ward off evil spirits from kidnapping the bride!
I thought it was very touching how Becky’s bouquet carried a locket of her late Aunt. What a special way to have someone she loved close to her on her wedding day. One of Becky’s bridesmaids, Jessica, searched vintage shops until she found this perfect locket! As soon as the sun started to settle on the horizon we went back to the beach to take more pictures. The trelace created for the wedding looked so striking against the ocean and perfectly showacsed Becky and Anthony.

As we were leaving the beach I looked back one more time to see the trelace… and there it was with a new purpose, as a little girl blissfully weaved in and out of it. Now it was time for these two to take off for their reception! They made riding their bike look easy, even Becky in her wedding dress!
They circled through town and everyone went crazy!!!  Fire Island folk love a good show and these two riding through town was awesome! The reception was at the popular bay side restaurant Maguires in Ocean Beach. I wasn’t sure if my camera could handle anymore photo candy after their portrait session but I was wrong!  Becky and Anthony with the help of of their family and friends really outdid themselves in making their wedding unique and personal! I was in love with their thumb print poster and so jealous that I didn’t think of something that cool when we got married! The poster was made by Modern Keepsake on Etsy.  Their custom wooden guest book and ring  box that I adored was created by Eliza Lenore Designs on Etsy as well. They used an antique red wagon to hold sand and starfish with the guests’ names and table numbers attached!!Little red wagons, which are such signature elements of Fire Island, perfectly held the beautiful centerpieces created by Anthony’s Mom and the help of her friends!!!! Very impressive! Each place setting also held custom coozies!

Cocktail hour was so quaint, with seafood galore, the setting sun and the talented musicians Evan Seidita and Tim Cannetti. The sun gave a magnificent wedding gift of a glorious sunset as it descended below the horizon!Whoot! Whoot! Becky and Anthony make their way through their crowd of friends and family to have their first dance. Before it started Becky noticed the iPad being held up.  Anthony’s sister, the one who couldn’t make it was being Skyped in and was able to watch the first dance live!  As you can see it was very emotional for her. How incredible that modern technology allowed her to be there in a virtual way!It was time for the toasts and we knew we were in for a funny one when Becky’s maid of honor danced her way up to the microphone!
Anthony’s brother, the best man kept the tone and continued the fun!Siblings!A cupcake stand holding the largest cupcake I have ever seen!  Check out the amazingly artistic cupcake topper by Etsy artsit Heather Boyd!!!
Becky danced with her Dad and Anthony with his Mom, bringing smiles and tears to everyone!I love the look on Anthony’s Mom’s face as she dances with her son!
Then it started! This wedding was a full on dance party!  EVERYONE was dancing, only taking breaks to stand and dance around the bar! At one point I left the dance floor and when I came back everyone had napkin hats on!!!!Becky and Anthony, your wedding was just incredible and we were thrilled to be there to photograph it!!!

One might ask how all these lovely things got to an island?!  Well let’s just say it took about 30 trips on Becky’s Dad’s boat!  This wedding was one big happy labor of LOVE!!!  Everyone came together to help create this wonderful wedding day for Becky and Anthony!  Mother Nature chimed in too by giving them perfect weather!!

Keep smiling you two,  your enthusiasm for life and love is contagious!
